IES (founded in 1958) is a non-profit academic think-tank institution, owned by Republic of Serbia with 51 years of significant researches and analyses in various fields of economic sciences. IES field of activities is very broad, starting from macroeconomic studies elaboration, projections, forecasting, to international economic relation analysis, world economic and trade surveys, studies and strategies on economic, regional, and sustainable development, sector economic policies, as well as a large number of projects for economic subjects in almost all economic fields. Another IES orientation encompasses the consulting, knowledge innovation, continual training and education in the fields of current business economy, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, finances, etc. Through its “daughter” – Belgrade Banking Academy (BBA) - Faculty for Banking, Insurance and Finance, the Institute gives full contribution to human resources education at the highest academic and professional level. IES cooperates with great number of private companies, government, non-government, national and international institutions and organizations. On the second day of introductory meeting of the representatives of Tempus project participants, the issues related to the design master program in the field of European studies, as well as the role of each partner were discussed.

The first meeting of representatives of all participants of TEMPUS project was held on 11 March. The host representatives of University in Nice - Sophia Antipolis welcomed the guests and introduced them with the most important project elements, expected results and available budget.

On 24 February 2010, within the implementation of the Project: "Establishment & Positioning of National Brand of Serbia", which was realized by the Institute for the Ministry of Trade and Services of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the workshop was held with representatives of the economy. The workshop participants were top managers from over 20 local companies.

After a break of more than 4 years, the publishing of MAP bulletin ‘Macroeconomic Analyses and Prognoses’ has been renewed. The promotion of the renewed MAP edition  was held on 18  February 2010. A large number of media representatives, and all MAP researchers and associates attended the promotion.

The forum "Entrepreneurship Policy in Times of Crisis" was held at Corvinus University Budapest. Over hundred participants from all over the world participated at the forum and two round tables were organized within the forum.

Marko Malović, PhD, Assistant Professor and IES associate, participated at annual regional conference of International Finance Corporation (IFC), within World Bank, which was held at the Sheraton hotel in Tirana, Albania in the second half of November.

On the third day of the visit to Ljubljana Dr Zubović had a meeting with the management of ICPE on the topic of further cooperation between two institutions. In the afternoon Dr Zubović met Ass. Prof. Dr Jelena Zorić from the Economic Faculty in Ljubljana.

The second day of the seminar started with Dr Henry Loewendahl’s comprehensive presentation of Financial Times 2009 research results about the trends in Greenfield investments as a result of the economic crisis.

The ICPE seminar on "The New Commercial Diplomacy: Open the Door to a Trade and Investment Driven Recovery", took place from 16 to 17 November 2009 at its headquarters in Ljubljana in cooperation with FT Business and FDI Intelligence.

The second day of the meeting of EADI directors started with the round table "The Future of Development Studies in the Light of Crises". The following issues were discussed: poverty, climate changes, accelerated urbanization, resources management, and the role of development studies and scientific and research institutions in finding the solutions for these new challenges.
